Sous Chef at the Camberwell Arms

Salary:
£40,000
Location:
Camberwell, London
Contract:
Start Date:
4th September 2023

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a new Sous Chef to join our team.

Camberwell Arms is a well loved neighbourhood pub restaurant in South London. Founded by chef director Mike Davies in 2014, the Camberwell Arms is a celebration of generosity and hospitality, rooted in excellent, product-focussed, seasonal cooking; informal but well-informed service; and a constantly evolving wine list. The kitchen team has asserted their own unique style within our bustling restaurant, serving up a thoughtful selection of snacks, small plates and generous feasting dishes designed for sharing and conviviality.

We make what we want to eat, when we want to eat it, using the highest quality products we can buy. If we can make something ourselves, we do – charcuterie, sausages, smoked fish, pickles, breads and ice cream are all made in house – whilst the rest is carefully sourced from the best producers and cooked on our charcoal grill. Our attentive and well-informed front of house team create a familiar and warm atmosphere. We aim to deliver the confidence and belief in our products exhibited in fine dining restaurants, but without the starch.

The Camberwell Arms is for everyone. It is built on a love of service and a shared belief that there is great power in bringing people together over excellent food and drink.

This is a fantastic role for the right candidate to develop their career within an established brand and become an integral part of an exciting, quality driven restaurant with an ever changing menu and wine list. About us

The Camberwell Arms opened 9 years ago, and since then we’ve been building menus based around seasonality and the best ingredients available, things that inspire and interest us the most. We source meat that is unparalleled in terms of quality, from farmers who rear small herds of native breeds and we do all butchery in house.

This pride and consideration of provenance is reflected in our ever evolving wine list comprised of well made natural and biodynamic wines from small producers.

As a company we are committed to creating a healthy working environment, we understand that the welfare of our people is of paramount importance. Service can be fast paced and we work to deadlines but we aim to get the job done without blowing a gasket.
