We are excited to announce that we are looking for a new Sous Chef to join our team. We’re looking for people who love food, both eating and cooking, and who are seeking growth within a small but ever evolving team.
We change the menu regularly with a keen eye for actual seasonality. We make what we want to eat, when we want to eat it, using the highest quality products we can buy. If we can make something ourselves, we do – charcuterie, sausages, smoked fish, pickles, breads and ice cream are all made in house – whilst the rest is carefully sourced from the best producers. Our menu centres around our charcoal grill and our whole animal butchery program, and allows us to remain accessible while serving dishes of the highest quality.
This is a fantastic role for the right candidate to develop their career within an established brand and become an integral part of an exciting, quality driven restaurant with an ever changing menu and wine list. The role is ideal for an ambitious chef looking to develop and progress in a busy kitchen.
Benefits of the role include:
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for someone who wants to take part in the creative process and can confidently run services. Someone who can teach and lead, but still feels they have learning to do.
Responsibilities include:
A little about us:
Camberwell Arms is a neighbourhood pub & restaurant, founded by chef director in 2014 and nestled inside a 19th century pub on Camberwell Church Street
The Camberwell Arms is a celebration of generosity and hospitality, rooted in excellent, product-focussed, seasonal cooking; informal but well-informed service; and a constantly evolving wine list. The kitchen team has asserted their own unique style within our bustling restaurant, serving up a thoughtful selection of snacks, small plates and generous feasting dishes designed for sharing and conviviality.
The Camberwell Arms is for everyone. It is built on a love of service, a proclivity for hard work and a shared belief that there is great power in bringing people together over excellent food and drink.
We make what we want to eat, when we want to eat it, using the highest quality products we can buy. If we can make something ourselves, we do – charcuterie, sausages, smoked fish, pickles, breads and ice cream are all made in house – whilst the rest is carefully sourced from the best producers and cooked on our charcoal grill. Our attentive and well-informed front of house team create a familiar and warm atmosphere. We aim to deliver the confidence and belief in our products exhibited in fine dining restaurants, but without the starch.
